The Appleseed Program: Turning Americans into Riflemen!

Bring the entire family to learn how to become Riflemen!

Appleseed

Turning America back into a Nation of Riflemen

The Appleseed Project, sponsored by the Revolutionary War Veterans Association, is a program to teach the average American the fundamentals of rifle shooting so they may pick up any rack-grade military-style rifle, and using standard iron sights and military surplus ammunition, engage and hit man-sized targets at up to five hundred yards consistently. This is known as the "Rifleman's Quarter-Mile". Students will learn how to master the Rifleman's Quarter-Mile, the heritage behind it and the role it played in the Revolutionary War.

Guns Save Life is proud to sponsor an Appleseed event in Bloomington, IL at Darnall's GunWorks and Ranges on May 30-31, 2009. Guns Save Life will pay the range fees for all of the shooters present on both days, saving you, the participant, up to $40-$50 that some other ranges would charge for two days of shooting.

Registration at this Bloomington course is limited to approximately 45 shooters (because of the facilities), so sign up now.

The 2009 GSL Sponsored Appleseed shoot was held May 30-31, 2009. Scroll down to see photos from that event.

One of the drills sometimes used at Appleseed to reinforce the concept of Natural Point of Aim is to find your NPOA, then close your eyes and breath in and out then fire with your eyes still closed. If you're on your NPOA and using the other skills in building a solid foundation and the rest of the techniques taught at Appleseed, you will shoot like this (or better). This group was shot by a 13-year-old new shooter -- with his eyes closed.
